Airgas Chief Operating Officer elected Chair of CGA Board

Airgas’ Chief Operating Officer, Jay Worley, has been elected Chair of the Compressed Gas Association’s Board of Directors.

As Chair of the Board, Worley will prioritise the expansion of the CGA’s influence and continue to engage young and emerging professionals in the CGA to expand perspective and ensure a pipeline of subject matter experts.

He has also noted the critical importance of both developing and improving safety standards across the industry.

Having worked in the industry for more than three decades, Worley has a wealth of industry experience and is known for his ability to bring people together to achieve common goals.

On his appointment, Worley said, “I am excited to take on this new role and work with the Board to continue moving the CGA forward.”

Worley succeeds Nelson Moreira, Vice-President of Operations, Safety, and Quality at Linde Gas and Equipment. Moreira described his time as Chair as an “honour”.

Moreira added, “I am proud of the progress we have made over the past year, and I am confident that the organisation will continue to thrive under Jay’s leadership.”

Worley will be joined by Eric Rottier who will take up the Vice-Chair role. Rottier is CEO at Taylor-Wharton Cryogenics and TOMCO2 Systems, and Chief Operating Officer of Air Water America, Inc.
