Atlas Copco has signed an agreement to acquire Presys, a Korean-based manufacturer of vacuum valves for the semiconductor market.
A privately owned company based in Suwon, Republic of Korea, Presys has 134 employees and had revenues of approximately $20m in 2022.
Geert Follens, President of Atlas Copco’s Vacuum Technique business, notes that Presys’ transfer and isolation vacuum valves are highly complementary to its current semiconductor product portfolio.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close during the first quarter of 2024. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Once acquired, the business will become part of the Semiconductor Chamber Solutions Division within the Vacuum Technique Business Area.
