Dutch DAC firm secures government funding to advance projects
Netherlands-based direct air capture (DAC) specialist Carbyon will receive a subsidy under a Dutch grant scheme called Demonstration Energy and Climate Innovation (DEI+).
The scheme, which resulted from the Dutch Climate Agreement, provides funding for projects that have already completed the research phase and are ready for practical application in real-world settings.
The funding will go towards the on-going development of DAC pilot machines that will capture CO2 from the atmosphere. It will also help fund a demonstration site at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, where the company is headquartered.
“This support allows us to take a major step forward in proving the technical and economic feasibility of our DAC solution in real-world conditions, aligning with national and EU climate goals,” said Hans De Never, founder and CEO.
